A beautiful heavy brass and pinkish marble garniture set of clock and two candelabras feature cherubs, rooster heads, lion claw feet, and two bronze satyr cherubs wielding garlands of flowers. There is a lot going on here and close inspection is quite delightful.
I wish I could have posted more closeups. The Imperial clock still keeps great time last I used it, although I have not wound it up in the last couple of years, and comes with the original key.It strikes the hour with a wonderful chime(s). The clock measures about 24 inches high by 14 inches long. Each candelabra is about 27 inches high by 10 inches wide and holds seven candles each. From what I read, this is an Italian made reproduction of a french style set produced in the mid 20th century. There is a mark under one candelabra with Brevattato N7087-877.
There is no doubt it belongs together. Extremely heavy, I would say the entire set is well over 50 lbs. It is time for someone else to cherish it as I downsize. It could use a better cleaning, as I only used a dry microfiber to wipe it down. A baby toothbrush and long swabs should do the trick.
I don't know what else is safe to use with bronze cast. I have attached pics of four areas I found flaws. In the back of one candelabra is a small whitish area in the bronze. On the back of the clock near bottom, there are some pockmarks in the bronze. On the other candelabra a tassel is missing on bottom one side. The left cherub on the clock doesn't hold the bronze rope exactly in his hands. A couple of other flaws are not flaws at all but happened in the casting where it isn't matching exactly like the other side of the piece. I don't feel any raw edges.
