Collection of three, 19c French altar candelabras. On the smaller (18inch) candelabra, I have added crystals (not original) to the three bobeches, but there is still something missing at the bottom of the main stem immediately above the base, and I'm not sure what that is (likely a bunch of grapes). If you look closely at pictures 3 and 5, you can see where the missing piece should be. Of the two larger candelabras (both 26 inches), the one on the left (picture 1) has suffered the most damage. There are 3 missing pieces (pictures 6 and 7) - 2 leaves and a bobeche near the bottom.
The second large candelabra, the one on the right (picture 1), is missing the stamen on the lily immediately below the top lily (picture 9) and a leaf on the bottom right (picture 10). All the bases are in good condition. In Catholicism, the grapes and wheat symbolize the Eucharist - the sacrament in which the body and blood of Christ are presented in the form of bread and wine; the wheat symbolizes the flour used to make the host (the body of Christ) and the grapes symbolize the chalice and the blood of Christ. No branch can bear fruit in itself; it must remain in the vine.
(John 15) The lilies on the two larger candelabras symbolize purity and chastity.
